Our darling little Georgina has graced this world, and as a result I'm on maternity leave.. but not on leave from crafting! I'm super excited to announce Kids Art Club will be making a return on Wednesdays. Keep an eye out for the class times and details on our Facebook page!

Happy Galentine's Day! This is a term I just learnt, thanks to my star colleague Nur. From what I could gather, it's an excuse to celebrate your best gal pals, and Nur did this by providing chocolate muffins for breakfast. A great start to the day.. topped off by a romantic dinner by the beach (with my husband).
Valentine's Day is a pretty silly day really. Poor Mark, on our first VD together, he went all out with a teddy, flowers and chocolate. I promptly scoffed, and said it was all unnecessary. The following year I got a box of Favourites wrapped in a grey coles plastic bag. This was possibly the best present ever received!!
If you are partial to the day, there are a few cute suggestions out there..

This lucky gal has spent the day relaxing, watching reruns of The Midwives (gearing up), and enjoying a day off midweek out of the sun!
As an ode to the sun, I thought I'd share my FAVOURITE indigenous artists and their work.. incorporating textiles (love), threads (love) and fabric drawing (love) to create soft sculptures, the Yarrenyty Altere artists are jumping in leaps and bounds to show their work all around Australia.
"In 2015 Yarrenyty Altere Artists began their blue and white project. Experimenting with cyanotype, an old photographic technique the artists developed a new colour pallet to use as their base material in soft sculpture, apparel, jewellery and limited edition prints. Beautiful blues, created by exposure to the sun, have allowed the artists to continue to experiment with innovative ways of expression."
Photos thanks to Yarrenyty Altere.

Sunday morning was spent right, hanging out with girlfriends and making juice. (Welcome to your thirties hey.) Almost 3.5 hours later, we'd covered all the important topics.. plus some. And the ABC, apple, beetroot and carrot juice, was a hit!

When I first moved to Hedland five years ago, I literally signed up to everything.. two sports, volunteering, work, the arts and much more. Although things have settled down, and some activities took a hiatus, this year I'm pleased to announce that I'm back at Vinnies!
Every Saturday morning i spend a few hours sorting and pricing clothes to go out on the shop floor. Aside from being appalled at the amount of clothes in this world, it's a great to see people recycle their wares for others to tresure.. and have a natter while sorting it all out! Sometimes I don my fashion police hat and throw away clothes which no teenager (or adult should wear - think trashy leather mini skirts!!) And coo at the teeny tiny baby clothes..
Vinnies in South Hedland is always looking for volunteers, so if you're keen to help out, give Shirley a bell. Alternatively, next time you're considering fast fashion, pause and take yourself to the nearest op shop, never know what you'll find!
ps - wore a black and white frock to Vinnies on the weekend, hence the pics in the post ;)
