There should be light

This is a cautionary tale. One which has been told hundreds of times.. thousands of times if you're Katie E.
Last Saturday night was Portbound, a youth festival held in South Hedland. After seeing some very dangerous BMX arial tricks and young hip hop talent I hopped on my bike and started cycling home. It was now I realised that I didn't have my lights!?!
Cycling with extreme caution I was almost home when from nowhere two dogs appeared and started chasing me. Speeding up, they also sped up and started showing some serious fangs. Trying to serve away from them, I failed. Instead I lost control, skidded and not so gracefully, fell in the red dirt.
It seems that this grand manoeuvre surprised not only me, but foiled the dogs attempts to bight my ankles off. They scampered off into the darkness. In the meantime, my wallet had splurted (technical term) everywhere. Luckily for my bruised legs, and ego, no one saw.
Chain back on, I meekly continued home in the dark. Tonight, I had my lights and the dogs didn't even make a whimper.
In other news, some of these excellent lights are from Strek Collective. http://thisispaper.com/Strek-Collective-Selected-works
