Yesterday Nikki and I had our weekly outing, this time to Anna Pappas' Prahran Gallery to see Julia Robinson's new exhibition, Some to the Stone. I've popped a few of her works up, but it's well worth a visit to see her creative mind (and amazing seamstress skills in action!)
Julia Robinson is an Adelaide based visual artist working in the field of sculpture and installation. Her work stems from an enduring interest in various human responses to death, encompassing fear, religion and ritual. She draws inspiration from a multitude of sources including myths, legends, poems, Bible passages, fairy tales, texts such as Dante’s Inferno and films such Häxan: Witchcraft through the ages.
